Today they visited a few places but I am sure one the favorite places for Lilly and Deuce was the beach S.Martinho do Porto. Sand, sea and good times!

Today Urša and Valerie took Lilly and Deuce to the Park in Caldas da Raihna (Parque D. Carlos). They visited the flea market, made some new dog and human friends and enjoyed the sun in Caldas da Raihna!
Deuce and Lilly are doing amazing! Yesterday, Urša and Valerie took them to the beach. Lilly went crazy (as always) on the sand and in the water, Deuce was a little more shy. But he will get used to it :).
This is the first home in Portugal (Serra do Bouro) for Lilly and Deuce. They are already spending some quality time with auntie Valerie and auntie Urša :)
Oh, living a dog's life. :) Yesterday Lilly, Deuce, Lyra, Emily, Maja and Robert arrived to Portugal after 4 days on the road! Lilly and Deuce have seen the places I have never seen before, so I am quite happy that they had the chance to eyperience all of this : to sniff the French ground and pee on Spanish grass. And what now? Now they are staying with auntie Valerie until I get there (Wednesday, 17th September). This is a photo of how they travelled. :) I barely slept at night, don't know if I should blame the full moon or the fact that my kids are leaving me for a week :) It's the D-Day !! Deuce and Lilly are all packed up and they are leaving in a few hours!
I woke up, made myself a cup of coffee and I started counting the days left until I go to Portugal. 10 days left!! It's getting closer. Again, that bitter-sweet feeling. Damn. A sip of coffee should make this all better. I take a sip and take a look at Deuce who was catching some morning sun on the terrace. Then it hit me!
They're leaving TOMORROW! :) I've been so busy these couple of days that I almost forgot Lilly and Deuce are leaving on Monday. At least I didn't have the time to panic. YET. :) Anyway. It's the day before and I'm really trying to stay calm so they don't feel my anxiety, but I think they can both hear my heart pounding through my chest. :) The adventure is about to begin! Photos, videos and new blog entries coming soon! :) Jasmina Maja just told me they're planning to start the journey to Portugal on Monday (8th September) morning. I am so happy that this is finally happeing but I have to admit I am also nervous and sad. I won't see Deuce and Lilly for 10 days and I can't imagine how this will be like. I am telling myself that maybe they won't miss me so much as I will miss them. I hope so. I know Maja, Robert and later on Valeria will take great care of them and that's what keeps me going! :) Yesterday evening (as almost any other evening) I was watching them play together. Samo loves them with all of his heart and they love him back even more. I got emotional just thinking about how we will all miss eachother while we will be away.
13 days left - I can't wait but I've got a bitter-sweet feeling ;) I know Portugal will make the biterness go away as soon as I land :) ! Hugs, Jasmina Yes, this was my morning alarm clock.
7 am, I had no urge to get up, but Deuce obviously did. :) If you don't have an alarm clock like this, get one! You can get it almost at any dog shelter! :) And it wakes you up, too, you can't just hit "snooze" ! :) As some of you know I've been working my ass off to find a way to bring Lilly and Deuce with me to Portugal to keep me company on my Eramsus student exchange. I've been looking around for train routes, airplanes, cars,.. anything you can imagine. Then Maja kindly offered to help out by taking Deuce and Lilly with them to Portugal, and we could meet there. Maja, Robert and their two dogs are starting they journey from Slovenia to Portugal on Monday, 8th September. They will be picking up Deuce and Lilly in Nova Gorica and then they will be ready to go! They will be driving for a few days, making sure to make enough stops for them and for the dogs, so everyone will feel allright! :) Auntie Valeria will pick them up as soon as they arrive to Portugal (around 10th September) and she will take care of them unitl 17h September - that's when I get there. The plan is great, can't wait to start this adventure! ;) Until next time!! Jasmina Sh*t just got real ;) ! Plane ticket is booked, suitcases ready. 21 days left until we leave Slovenia for 4 months. I feel excited, Deuce and Lilly are calm since they don't know what's going on yet! ;)
I am a student (2nd year BA) at School of Arts in Gorizia, Italy. Don't be confused, I come from Slovenia, the school is Slovenian, it's just situated in Italy, near the border with Slovenia ;) ! Anyway...We were offered to go on student exchange to Portugal for a few months, or even the whole year. My first reaction was :"No way, it's too far away and I will not see my family and animals for a few months! That's just not for me!"
After months of thinking and talking it over with my family & friends I decided to give Portugal a chance. I am going on Erasmus student exchange and I will be gone for 4 months - from October to February. The good thing is that my best friends are going with me, too! :) But what about the dogs? Samo (my boyfriend) works long hours so he won't be able to spend much time with Deuce and Lilly. A million scenarios and questions were running through my mind. And then I came up with something. "But wait? Why don't I take them with me to Portugal?" Samo looked at me like I was from another planet but after a few days of thinking about it he came to the same conclusion as I did :) . Ok, so now we've got a plan, what next? |
